Summary

As cities grow and evolve, the challenges they face are becoming more complex—none more urgent than managing the impacts of a changing climate. Extreme weather events, rising temperatures, and unpredictable storms are testing the resilience of our urban landscapes like never before. To protect our communities and critical infrastructure, we need to rethink our approach to stormwater and flood management and climate adaptation.

Join us for an insightful webinar on Building Climate-Resilient Cities, where we'll explore how innovative technology and sustainable strategies can help cities adapt to climate change, manage stormwater effectively, reduce flood risks, and build a more resilient future.

Key Topics:

  • Comprehensive Climate Risk Awareness: While ensuring water efficiency during droughts and preparing for increasingly severe storms is critical, learn how initiating comprehensive climate risk assessments can help utilities prioritize actions and enhance overall resilience against a wide spectrum of climate threats—including extreme heat, cold snaps, sea-level rise, and severe storms.

  • Adaptation & Resilient Infrastructure Strategies: Discover how reducing non-revenue water (NRW), improving water treatment processes, embracing water reuse, and reinforcing infrastructure to withstand diverse climate stressors can support sustainable water management. Learn about strategies to adapt and fortify your utility’s infrastructure against extreme temperatures, rising sea levels, and intense weather events to ensure longevity and reliability.

  • Smart Stormwater and Flood Management: Moving beyond traditional gray infrastructure, we'll dive into how leveraging natural blue-green solutions and real-time data can manage stormwater effectively and mitigate flood risks.

  • Building Water-Wise Cities: Learn how cities are using smart planning and digital solutions to manage stormwater effectively and prolong the life of critical infrastructure.

Join us to discover how technology can drive a future where cities are safer, more liveable, and better prepared to face climate uncertainties.

Speakers

Roni Deitz
Global Director for Climate Adaptation
Arcadis

Roni serves as the Global Director of Climate Adaptation at Arcadis, where she oversees a multifaceted team encompassing climate risk assessment, strategic planning, design, and engineering, as well as operations & maintenance of infrastructure. Her experience has been shaped by managing and delivering large, multidisciplinary resiliency projects that bring innovative climate adaptation solutions to life for a variety of cities, including New York City. Instrumental to her project work is her ability to build consensus among a variety of stakeholders, engage diverse communities and bridge the engineering and planning disciplines. She’s helped cities solve integrated water management challenges through delivering green and grey engineering solutions to concurrently address coastal, riverine and stormwater flooding, as well as deliver implementable plans to address acute and chronic climate risks.
