Combining technological advancements has led to an efficient and convenient wastewater flow monitoring solution. By coupling the convenience of wireless data delivery with the intelligence of non-contact flow monitoring, the Hach Non-Contact, Wireless Flow Monitoring System captures flow data with accuracy, reduces required maintenance and limits the risk of lost data due to sensor downtime.
This monitoring system is comprised of three primary parts: a wireless-enabled Hach FL900 Series flow logger, a FLO-DAR AV sensor, and FSDATA Online Data Manager software.
The wireless FL900 logger connects with all major national cellular providers and allows users to review and analyze flow data in real-time from anywhere. This is both convenient and cost efficient as users can eliminate the need for regular site visits for data retrieval. Also, wireless technology makes site alarming possible. With it users can receive instant notification, through e-mail or texts, letting them know of extreme flow changes—high or low—at each site.
The FLO-DAR sensor uses radar technology to measure flow velocity and ultrasonic to capture level. By employing these two non-contact technologies, the FLO-DAR stays above the flow, reducing the need for maintenance visits and limits sensor fouling. Even in surcharge conditions, the FLO-DAR’s optional surcharge velocity sensor continues to capture both velocity and level data so users have flow data at the most critical moment.
All data feeds into FSDATA Online Data Manager software which lets users review, analyze and present data in real time, from anywhere. All data hosting is free, and equipment-related data—such as remaining battery life—is viewable, ensuring the meters never go down.
In sum, every aspect of the Hach Non-Contact Wireless Flow Monitoring System is designed to reduce monitoring costs, increase efficiency and provide better data with less hassle.
