18MGD wastewater plant replaces lagoons in Utah
Initial estimates of the Logan Regional Wastewater Treatment Facility in Utah were $64 million over the city's budget, but after a redesign that reduced the number of piles needed to support the plant, it saved $1 million off its budget price.
In addition, the wastewater lagoons that it decommissioned are now used for stormwater retention during high flow wet weather events, commonly experienced in the spring and winter.
