Usually when I am writing the editorial letter for the September issue, our editorial team would be gearing up to attend WEFTEC in either Chicago or New Orleans. We would line up the products we want to see, the interviews we want to conduct and plan out coverage for all of you. And throughout that September issue, we highlight must-see products and companies to check out if you are attending the show.

Needless to say, things are different this year. We’ve still got some must-see products in this issue as well as company profiles. And we will still be covering WEFTEC Connect—Water Environment Federation’s virtual version of WEFTEC this year—to share as much information about new products and services as we can through our online platforms. So if you have not already done so, be sure to like and follow our Facebook and Twitter accounts for regular updates, the links to which you can find at the bottom of this page, and sign up for our newsletters to get emails with fresh content each week.

The pandemic has put increased emphasis on our social media presence and digital platforms, so we hope you will look for us there. And one particular item could be of interest to you: Facebook Video Premieres. Every Tuesday at 6 p.m. Eastern on our Facebook page, we premiere video interviews with industry thought leaders and experts covering a variety of subjects from sewer bypass project lessons to proper cleaning of HMI units during a pandemic.

Some have even included discussions with the utilities and project managers behind the projects showcased in the articles you have read in issues of WWD this year. We discuss project aspects that did not make it into the print publication and get more detailed information directly from the utility sources on their experiences, as well.

Check out the playlist of videos at bit.ly/wwdweeklydigest, and be sure to tune in this month as we release a series of interviews about our 2021 Industry Icon David Drake. Read more about him on page six, as well.

All that said, we also want to hear from you about our digital offerings and transformation. What kind of information are you most interested in receiving about WEFTEC Connect in October? What topic areas should we add to the list of future video interviews? What other digital content are you interested in receiving and how do you want to receive it? Drop me a line at my email below.
