AWWA's Andrew Chastain-Howley Joins Black & Veatch

He will lead water loss control programs for the company

Recognized industry thought leader Andrew Chastain-Howley has joined Black & Veatch as a director in the company’s management consulting business. In his new role, Chastain-Howley will be lead water loss control programs for the company's water utility clients.

Chastain-Howley is a respected member of the U.S. water community, with more than 20 years of experience in the fields of water resources and conservation. His professional background includes work in the Middle East, Europe, Australia, North America and Africa, and for numerous government agencies, consultants and private organizations.

As chairman of the American Water Works Assn.’s (AWWA) Water Loss Control Audit Software Subcommittee, Chastain-Howley managed the development of AWWA’s free water audit software. This software has been in operation for five years and is currently used by hundreds of utilities and government agencies in the U.S.

In addition to his position with AWWA, Chastain-Howley is also the chairman of the Water Environment Assn. of Texas’ Groundwater Committee and the American Water Resource Assn.’s Technical Committee on Aquifer Storage and Recovery.

Chastain-Howley earned his bachelor’s degree in geology from the University of St. Andrews in Scotland, and his master’s degree in mining geology from Camborne School of Mines. He also received his master’s degree in advanced materials from the Cranfield Institute of Technology.

Chastain-Howley is based in Arlington, Texas.
