Neptune Technology Group Inc., has partnered with both Esri and 3-GIS to enhance the mapping functionality within its advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) host software, N_SIGHT R450.

The Esri GIS technology allows utilities to perform enhanced analysis of AMI information when presented together on a common map interface. Over base maps, utilities can layer details such as distribution lines, laterals, and other utility assets.

Neptune’s N_SIGHT R450 v2.5 delivers advanced Esri-based map-enabled AMI system key performance indicators (KPIs), along with map-based AMI data queries built on the 3-GIS web mapping tool, Network Express. Through the mapping feature, utility users can interactively view, organize and perform system activities on leak detection, reverse flow and other system conditions where and when they happen across service areas.

The use of Esri-based maps and utility-created layers enables a more sophisticated grouping of accounts within Neptune’s N_SIGHT R450 software by utilizing Esri geo-based information and GIS selection tools provided by the 3-GIS mapping interface. It also allows for display of added GIS information, such as utility distribution lines and other assets, to aid in alert troubleshooting and data analysis.

The software now supports full integration with ESRI ArcGIS Server (versions 9.3 and newer) to display ESRI GIS map layers. Further, for customers without an in-house Esri ArcGIS Server, N_SIGHT R450 now also supports full integration with the Esri ArcGIS Online hosted mapping service.
