Frank Caligiuri will replace Ken Sayell, who will retire in May 2014

Hungerford & Terry Inc. (H&T) announced the appointment of Frank Caligiuri as its new vice president of sales for the 105-year-old employee-owned, water-conditioning purification engineering and manufacturing firm.

Caligiuri replaces Ken Sayell, who will retire in May 2014, after 42 years with the company. H&T’s last four decades under Sayell have included its latest accomplishments in the ion exchange evolution; continuing success in treatment for the removal of iron, manganese, arsenic and nitrates; and its increased utilization of membrane technology in the company’s efforts to solve customers’ demands for the future.

“Frank brings a wealth of experience to the critical role of sales for the company,” said Tom Carrocino, Hungerford & Terry’s newly appointed president, as of March 20, 2014. “His engineering background, his 22 years’ experience in H&T Sales and his diverse prior technical experience will all prove invaluable going forward.”

When asked about his appointment to his new position, Caligiuri said: “First, I want to thank Tom and my colleagues on the board of directors for their confidence in me. I look forward to enhancing H&T’s pre-eminent status as the company that continuously seeks the best technology to solve water-filtration challenges on a daily basis. That’s what this job is all about.”

Prior to joining Hungerford & Terry in 1992, Caligiuri was employed by Penn Ventilator in 1991 in a technical management capacity and served as a total quality management program facilitator. Early in his career he received the Dale Carnegie accreditation for Sales and Public Speaking. He pursued a degree in Environmental Engineering at Gloucester County Community College, New Jersey in the late 1980s after he received his degree from Brandywine College (now part of Widener University) in Wilmington, Del. in 1977.

Caligiuri was elected to the Monroe Township Council, Gloucester County, N.J. for three consecutive terms, including two years as president and two years as vice president. He also served on the Monroe Township Planning Board and the Gloucester County Improvement Authority.
