Idaho Falls, Nampa plants scored in top 25 of NPCA Plant Certification program

Two Oldcastle Precast Idaho facilities—Idaho Falls and Nampa—received the 2015 Quality Merit Award for outstanding commitment to quality from the National Precast Concrete Assn. (NPCA) in recognition for scoring in the top 25 in their annual NPCA Plant Certification program.

Approximately 400 plants participated, and Idaho Falls and Nampa both scored in the top 25. This achievement ranks Oldcastle Precast’s Idaho Falls and Nampa plants in the top 7% of all NPCA certified plants. The NPCA certification covers both facilities’ full line of precast reinforced concrete products.

"This is a significant accomplishment,” said Oldcastle Precast Site Manager Cache Elzinga. “Mike Blackham, our Idaho Managing Engineer, leads the way for both plants in our constant pursuit to manufacture products to the highest quality."

"Our Nampa quality control department, led by Dustin Sigman QC Manager and QC Technician Josh Kunerth, received this award four times in the last five years,” said Managing Engineer Mike Blackham. “Furthermore, the Idaho Falls quality control department, managed by Kirk Burnside, QC Manager, and QC Technician Brandon Cox, recently had their 2016 NPCA review and received a score of 100%."

Elzinga stated that both quality control departments have done an outstanding job and have assisted in changing the culture in the plants to a “safety and quality first” mentality.

"It takes a substantial amount hard work and dedication to work in the quality control department. Our quality assurance and quality control measures ensure compliance with all contractual specifications, mandatory regulations and quality standards. The quality control department employees do the job right and make certain that our products and services are safe, reliable and of good quality," Elzinga said.

Participation in the NPCA Plant Certification program affirms an ongoing commitment to producing high-quality precast concrete products. NPCA’s Quality Assurance Committee is pleased to extend its congratulations to the entire team at both Oldcastle Precast facilities.

NPCA honors the top 25 plants in the U.S. in its Plant Certification program based on a ranking of the top scores received during the 2015 audit of all NPCA-certified plants.
