Brown and Caldwell, an environmental engineering and construction firm, announced new appointments to its executive leadership team.

Chief Operating Officer Rich D’Amato has been promoted to president, succeeding Jim Miller who, after 12 years in his post, has been appointed vice chairman of the firm. Cindy Paulson, a senior BC executive with the firm since 1987, has been promoted to Chief Technical Officer, a newly created position.

Since joining the firm in 2013, D’Amato has held leadership roles including executive vice president, leader of the firm’s private sector enterprise and more recently, COO.

“Rich is ideally suited to provide next generation leadership for the company,” said Craig Goehring, Brown and Caldwell chairman and chief executive officer. “He understands the complexities of the environmental market; he is passionate about delivering full-service solutions to our clients; and he is committed to sustaining BC’s culture and core values. I am pleased that Rich has accepted this challenge and am confident that he will succeed in this key role.”

Miller joined BC as president and COO in 2004 and has championed many company initiatives, including the firm’s Health and Safety program.

Paulson has progressed through several senior leadership positions with the firm. As CTO, she will drive a broad set of initiatives to advance BC’s technical services and solutions.

All position changes are effective immediately. D’Amato and Paulson will report directly to Goehring.
