American Water announced that it has raised approximately $460,000 company-wide for local United Way organizations across the nation.
“American Water has a long history of supporting United Way and we are fortunate to have such generous employees with a wonderful giving spirit,” said Susan Story, president and CEO of American Water. “Every year, American Water employees proudly contribute to the important efforts of United Way through creative fundraising campaigns and events that help advance the common good in those communities in which we live and work.”
American Water’s support of United Way is part of its customer commitment that aims to create a lasting, positive impact on the communities the company serves. United Way fights for the health, education and financial stability of every person in every community. United Way is supported by 2.8 million volunteers, 9.8 million donors worldwide and more than $4.7 billion raised every year.
