According to The Washington Post, the Trump Administration instructed officials at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the U.S. Department of the Interior to cease official communication with the public. This order restricts communication by way of news releases, social media and other correspondence.
Many of EPA’s social media accounts have lacked activity since President Trump’s inauguration, with the exception of its Office of Water, which continued to tweet water tips and information for public use.
“The EPA fully intends to continue to provide information to the public,” EPA said in a statement. “A fresh look at public affairs and communications processes is common practice for any new administration, and a short pause in activities allows for this assessment.”
