The U.S. EPA announced key members of the agency’s incoming leadership team, including the Office of Water. These team members will advance the Biden-Harris administration’s agenda to address the climate crisis, advance environmental justice and create clean energy jobs, according to the EPA press release.
Additional members of the EPA appointee team will be named in the days and weeks to come.
The team was sworn in on Jan. 20, 2021. As part of the Biden-Harris administration’s commitment to the highest ethical standards, appointees received an initial ethics training Jan. 21.
Radhika Fox will serve as principal deputy assistant administrator for the Office of Water.
Fox was previously the CEO of the US Water Alliance, a national nonprofit organization advancing policies and programs that build a sustainable water future. She has more than 20 years of experience in developing policies, programs and issue-based advocacy campaigns on critical water issues facing the nation, according to the EPA press release.
“It is an incredible honor and privilege to be selected by President Biden to serve our country,” said Fox in a US Water Alliance press release. “I am proud to join the EPA team of dedicated career professionals who have a long-standing commitment to protect public health and the environment. Water policy and investments can be a force for addressing the four compounding crises facing our nation — the global pandemic, economic recovery, racial equity, and the climate crisis. I stand ready to support this administration as we Build Back Better for every American."
Previously, Fox directed policy and government affairs for the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission and served as the Federal Policy Director at PolicyLink, according to the EPA press release. Fox has a M.A. in City and Regional Planning from the University of California, Berkeley, and a B.A. in Religion and Philosophy from Columbia University.
The US Water Alliance Board of Directors will commence a national search for a new CEO, added the US Water Alliance press release.
