Texas officials announced $4.3 million in financial assistance for wastewater system improvements at the City of Marble Falls in Burnet County.
The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) approved the assistance on Jan. 19. The funding consists of $2,670,000 in financing and $1,630,859 in principle forgiveness from the Clean Water State Revolving Fund (CWSRF).
The city will use the financing to construct 5.3 miles of additional reclaimed water system lines and a pump station with three 700 gallon-per-minute pumps.
In addition to the loan forgiveness, the city could save approximately $828,455 over the life of the loan by using the CWSRF.
The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional water and flood planning, and preparing the state water and flood plans. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects across the state.
