Lance McAvoy is the utility director for Fort Smith, Arkansas and after working with Dee Brown, principal of Brown Engineers, he unified the SCADA systems of five disparate treatment plants in the city.

Lance McAvoy is the utility director for Fort Smith, Arkansas and after working with Dee Brown, principal of Brown Engineers, he unified the SCADA systems of five disparate treatment plants in the city. Mcavoy said this also meant that he unified the standards of screens across all the plants to better aid workflow if employees had to cover shifts at multiple plants. Brown highlights the importance of getting feedback from not just the management but also the workers in a system when integrating a new SCADA system.
