AI is transforming the future of wastewater system management and treatment

Nov. 15, 2024
Smart water commonly is seen through a drinking water lens, but the potential for the wastewater market is arguably greater.

When people think of smart water in the water industry, their minds are drawn to flow, pressure and temperature measurement in drinking water systems. But there is a lot happening in the wastewater market where the potential for machine learning and AI applications are arguably more valuable and useful.

Prabhu Chandrasekeran, intelligent water national practice leader for Arcadis, explains how smart wastewater systems are currently being implemented and what the future looks like, particularly with the advent of generative AI in the past couple of years.
