Preparing for the Lead & Copper Rule Revision | WWD Weekly Digest

March 11, 2021
In this interview, Erica Walker, senior director of services for 120Water, shares four core principles that utilities should consider and plan around for the Lead & Copper Rule, regardless of the timing of the rule’s effective date.

The Lead & Copper Rule Revision has been years in the making and it was finally published in the Federal Register in January. But not long after that, President Joe Biden assumed office and the White House Chief of Staff Ron Klain issued a memo calling for a regulatory freeze, the language of which impacts the LCRR. Additionally, on March 5, just two days after this video interview was recorded, two actions from the U.S. EPA were sent to the U.S. Office of Management and Budget for review, and on March 10 they were made public. The notices propose to extend the effective date to allow for new public comment. Read the news here: https://www.wwdmag.com/epa-action-notices-extend-lead-copper-rule-revision-effective-date.
