PVC-Coated Conduit Provides Protection in Harsh Environments

Sept. 18, 2017
Products are available in a variety of configurations

PVC-coated Rigid Aluminum Conduit (RAC) from Calbond provides extra protection in corrosive and industrial environments, such as water and wastewater treatment plants. It is non-sparking and meets all National Electrical Code – Article 500 Hazardous Area Requirements, making it suitable for classified locations. Additionally, Calbond RAC is UL/cUL 6A-listed and NEMA RN-1-compliant, with no exceptions. Its non-magnetic properties provide protection from electromagnetic and radio frequency interference.

When comparing to PVC-coated galvanized conduit, RAC is only one-third the weight, providing for easy field fabrications and lower handling and installation costs. Calpipe’s line of PVC-coated aluminum products includes rigid aluminum conduit, elbows, couplings, nipples, conduit bodies, liquid tight connectors, hazardous location fittings hubs and unions.
