Dewberry, a privately-held professional services firm, has named Michael R. Pelletier, PE, as an associate in the Boston office. He has extensive knowledge of Boston and the surrounding areas’ water and wastewater systems, having worked on projects for the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority (MWRA) for many years. He received the 2009 Engineering Excellence Gold Award by ACEC Massachusetts for the engineering design and construction administration of an innovative water main rehabilitation for the MWRA. He will serve as a project manager for water and wastewater projects and services for public-sector utility clients in the New England region.
With more than 18 years of experience, Pelletier has provided investigation, preliminary design, engineering, and construction administration services for new and rehabilitation projects including more than 40 miles of water and sewer mains, conduits and tunnels ranging from 20 to 84 inches in diameter. He has inspected and designed repair solutions for WWTPs, CSOs, aqueducts, pump stations, valves and appurtenances. His water resources experience also encompasses stormwater management, drainage design, H&H modeling, dredging, river bank restoration, infiltration and sediment sampling.
Pelletier received his bachelor’s in civil engineering from the University of Massachusetts Lowell. He is a registered Professional Engineer and is the chair of the Membership Committee for the New England Water Works Association, a section of the American Water Works Association. Pelletier was recently selected as a 2012 Rising Star in Civil Engineering by CE News.
