Upcoming Webinar: Smart & Efficient Aeration Blower System Design for Wastewater Treatment Plants
May 4, 2017
2 p.m. EST
Wastewater treatment plants provide an invaluable service to our communities. Plants are typically designed to service regions for 20 to 30 years. This poses many challenges for community leaders and plant designers who not only have to foresee the future for the community, but stay within a given budget. This inherently results in a plant larger than the current needs and leads to reduced operational efficiency.
At a typical plant, aeration accounts for nearly 60% of a plant's total energy costs. Of the aeration costs, blowers make the most significant contribution to the cost.
This webinar will discuss strategies for designing an energy efficient and reliable blower system for a wastewater treatment plant. Special emphasis will be on package and system controls, package integration, evaluating power consumption, and typical blower system design schemes.
Speaker: Stephen Horne, Product Manager – Blowers Kaeser Compressors Inc.
Stephen Horne is the U.S. product manager for Kaeser's blower product line, and has more than 10 years of experience with the design and function of blower systems in wastewater aeration applications. Stephen has also served as Kaeser's in-house engineer for machine modifications and system design. He is a primary blower product and application instructor in Kaeser's Factory Certified Training program. Stephen holds a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Virginia Polytechnical Institute and State University.
