HydroGaïa to Address Water Needs in Manufacturing, Food Production

HydroGaïa announced the details of the 7th International Water Exhibition. The event will be held May 17 to 18, 2017, at the Montpellier Exhibition Centre in France and will address water needs in the manufacturing and food industries.

HydroGaïa will host an exhibition zone accommodating approximately 100 water industry professionals, themed workshops, business meetings and an extensive and content-rich program of talks and presentations. Following the inaugural lecture dealing with “the management of water resources to satisfy population food needs,” the presentation cycle will then address three major topical subjects:

Session 1: How to meet industry and agro-industry needs – May 17, 2 to 5 p.m.
Session 2: Which type of irrigation for tomorrow? – May 18, 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Session 3: How to satisfy domestic water needs – May 18, 2 to 4 p.m.

Session 1 will feature speaker Michel Dutang, honorary chairman of the French Water Cluster and adviser to CEO for VEOLIA.

Session 1.1 will discuss water quality. Agricultural and livestock production requires a variety of industrial processes that involve the implementation of various water flows. These apply to different types of production: food to be consumed raw, processed, food products and cosmetics.

“These water flows must comply with different regulations depending on the country. The economic weight of the ‘water’ raw material and the associated treatment varies considerably according to the finished product and the geographical zone,” said Jean-Michel Clerc of Transferts.

Security of water supply (in quality and quantity) and the rational use of water in industrial facilities are receiving greater attention. This first session will use the lessons learned from tangible experiences to examine the approaches and solutions applied by various players to guarantee the supply and quality of water.

According to Didier Genestet (E.T.E) and Valérie Rouvet (AQMC), “The implementation of the right water treatment processes, in which production teams are fully competent, together with quality controls, play a crucial role.” The round table scheduled for the end of the lecture will enable participants to share views and experience.

Session 1.2 will discuss recycling and by-product management. Following on from the previous session, the use and recycling of water and the management and recovery of by-products will be addressed through a range of clear examples. This also will be illustrated in the presentation of the Water Reuse & Normalisation* Platform, unique in France and in Europe, which allows professionals to share and capitalise on experience.
