Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago Praised for Biosolids Partnership
The Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago received commendation from the National Biosolids Partnership for being a NBP Platinum member for a decade. The achievement was observed at the annual Water Environment Federation Technical Exhibition and Conference held this year at the Ernest Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, LA.
"On behalf of the National Biosolids Partnership, I would like to commend the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago for being a NBP Platinum member for 10 years. It is an incredible accomplishment and shows your dedication to environmentally-sound biosolids management practices," said Patrick Dube, Ph.D., technical program manager for the Water Science & Engineering Center with the Water Environment Federation.
Grohe Celebrate the Laboratory Opening at the Hemer Site
Grohe celebrated the official opening of the extension to its research laboratory at the Hemer site in Germany. The company is consolidating all of the previously decentralized activities of its research laboratory in Hemer, facilitating an even closer connection between the central areas of research and development. In the past few months, the company has increased the laboratory space by 590 sq meters for a total of 1,510 sq meters to create the necessary infrastructure for more efficient development processes and new testing procedures.
IDE Technologies to Build BWRO Desalination Plant
IDE Technologies announced that it has been commissioned by Afikei Mayim engaged in water distribution in the Beit Shean valley in Israel, to build its Brackish Water Reverse Osmosis desalination plant. The desalination plant will be located in Emek Hamainot, near Sde Eliyahu, Israel, and will produce 6,750 m³/day of high-quality water for agricultural and hydroelectric applications.
“The feed water of our plant is very challenging. Therefore, it was important for us to choose a vendor for our BWRO desalination plant who has proven technological experience,” said Ran Ben Noon, CEO of Afikei Mayim. “Considering IDE’s vast experience in the water treatment industry both globally and in Israel, the company was a natural choice.”
