Integrated Water Services acquires M|MBR Systems
Integrated Water Services Inc. (IWS), a water and wastewater treatment solutions provider, has acquired M|MBR Systems LLC, a membrane bioreactor manufacturer and distributor.
IWS, in partnership with Sciens Water Opportunities Management LLC, will acquire 100 percent of the equity of M|MBR Systems as a result of the transaction.
Founded in 2018 and based out of Austin, Texas, M|MBR primarily serves selected wastewater treatment and water reuse markets in the United States. The company’s technical team works with membrane bioreactor (MBR) technology providers and end users to deliver, optimize and support MBR technology and installations across North America.
Integrating M|MBR Systems will enhance IWS’s product and solutions offerings for current and new customers within the water and wastewater treatment market, leveraging IWS’ expertise in field services and design with M|MBR Systems’ product and technical expertise. M|MBR Systems currently manufactures BluBox Modular MBR Systems, IWS’ premiere MBR product for wastewater treatment. Through the acquisition of M|MBR, IWS says it will look to expand the market opportunities for BluBox through a greater breadth of solutions and new cross-selling opportunities.
"The addition of M|MBR is an important step in our strategy to become North America’s premier water and wastewater treatment equipment and services provider,” says Rick Barrett, CEO of IWS. “This acquisition allows us to combine technology, products, and field installation to seamlessly serve our customers."
The company will continue to be led by Dennis Livingston, one of its founders, and serve its existing customers.
“We are excited to join forces with the IWS and Sciens Water teams,” adds Dennis Livingson, president of M|MBR Systems. “Putting two decades of membrane bioreactor (MBR) product knowledge and the construction expertise of IWS under one roof will benefit our valued customers. Now, with greater financial strength and resources, we can continue our mission to tap the full potential of MBR and to make the best available technology more accessible.”
