May 23, 2024
Renew Brew is a collaboratively made beer using recycled water from the Charlotte Water's advanced wastewater treatment processes that won Best in Show at a brewing competition.

Charlotte Water and Town Brewing company — with the help of Xylem and a local brewer in Town Brewing — developed and brewed an IPA with sustainable recycled water from the city's wastewater plant using advanced treatment technologies. Not only was the beer safe to drink, it was also well loved by beer drinkers and judges alike as it took home the award for Best in Show at the Queen City Brewers Festival.
