The Clean Water America Alliance Adds New Board Members

Jan. 23, 2012

Dan Keppen, Kristin Mayes and John Salo will join the board

Three new board members will join the Clean Water America Alliance. Agriculture, energy and water, as well as the western U.S. are represented in the appointments of Dan Keppen, executive director of the Family Farm Alliance; Kristin Mayes, professor and director of sustainability at Arizona State University Law School; and John Salo, a senior vice president at Brown and Caldwell.

“The Alliance is as broad and diverse as the nature of water and the landscape of our country,” said Alliance President Ben Grumbles. “It’s great to have [them] on the board, adding invaluable insight on water, energy, and food and how they are all connected, from east to west.”

The Alliance was formed in 2008 as a nonprofit educational organization with the goal to unite people and policies. A broad cross-section of interests is coming together through the Alliance to advance holistic, watershed-based approaches to water quality and quantity challenges.

“We’re proud of the Alliance board’s diversity among regions, sectors and disciplines,” Alliance Chairman Dick Champion said. “[They] continue that tradition and help us to bring people together to advance water sustainability.”
