American Water, a publicly traded water and wastewater utility company, announced Paul Gagliardo, manager of Innovation Development, will speak at the 2012 Water & Wastewater Management Summit. The summit will be held May 3 and 4 in Las Vegas.
Gagliardo will discuss innovation and change in the historically conservative water utility industry. His presentation will focus on identifying opportunities for value generation within a utility and subsequently, how to deploy those innovations necessary for change. Through American Water’s Innovation Development Process, the company has tested new approaches and technologies to create greater efficiencies in water reuse, desalination, wastewater operations and bioenergy. This initiative is achieving results through numerous innovation approaches that range from connecting to the Smart Grid through Enbala Power Networks to investing in the deployment of the company’s patented NPXpress wastewater treatment process, both of which will be discussed in his presentation.
The Water & Wastewater Management Summit brings together 50 water & wastewater leaders across North America to a highly focused and interactive networking event. The event will focus on strategies and practical realities for delivering reliable, safe and affordable water and wastewater services.
Key topics of the summit include utility financing and planning, asset management, regulation and compliance, new technology, waste management and energy efficiency.
