Book Club Discusses Women in Water

Aug. 1, 2017
AWWA Illinois Section invites attendees to read ‘Lean In’ by Sheryl Sandberg

The American Water Works Assn. Illinois Section shared an invitation to the Women in Water Book Club, which will discuss “Lean In” by Sheryl Sandberg. The event will take place Aug. 23, 2017, at 1 p.m. online.

In “Lean In,” Sandberg reignited the conversation around women in the workplace. Sandberg is chief operating officer of Facebook. In 2010, she gave a TED talk describing how women unintentionally hold themselves back in their careers. Her talk, which has been viewed more than 6 million times, encouraged women to “sit at the table,” seek challenges, take risks and pursue their goals with gusto.

Interested attendees should read the book and join the discussion about women in the workplace. There is no charge to attend. Attendees can register online
