Dissolved air flotation (DAF) systems effectively remove total suspended solids; fats, oil and grease; and other pollutants from industrial wastewater. Conceptually, the DAF process is simple—tiny bubbles attach to solid contaminants, causing them to float, and then sludge is skimmed off the surface of the water—but designing a DAF system for a real-world application is not quite as simple.

FRC PCL DAF systems represent this simplified, yet tailored approach to DAF design. They utilize a cross-flow plate pack and are characterized by high-built or tall tanks that house inclined, corrugated plate packs. The cross-flow configuration limits the distance solids must float to be effectively separated from the wastewater. This provides FRC engineers a wide range of design options to meet the specific application requirements and fit within limits of floor space.
